The Hay River Reserve Lodge was designed to serve as a gathering space for the Hay River Reserve, to host conferences and possible become an educational space in the future. Guy Architects paid close attention to the building’s materials,  finishes, and colors. Inside, a canoe motif appears on the ceiling. Angled wooden columns along the building’s facade draw visual interest while complementing its bold red and yellow color scheme. With deceptively simple design, materials and detailing, an iconic building is born.
