Located in the hamlet of Sachs Harbour, overlooking the Arctic Ocean, the community complex houses several multi-functional areas, including a community gathering place, a fitness area, full service kitchen, offices, and meeting rooms for community administrators. Co-ordination of a project in such a remote community requires careful planning, as there is only one barge per year on which to deliver materials and machinery to the site. The location of this building inspired its angular geometry; a sharp peak gradually transitions to a flat roof, echoing the crisp lines of an iceberg.
